The Butterfly Collector and Friends

During the Ormskirk Bank Holiday Festival 2023 an engaging, arts based event was held in Victoria Park, ‘the little park’.  The event provided an alternative interactive opportunity for everyone.

 

There were thirteen engagement activities, which included a treasure trail, interactive walkabout activities, crafts, a performance piece, an immersive installation, and a short trail. These activities varied in the level of participation required, promoting family learning and play. Each activity was designed and led by Angie Thompson and a team of arts practitioners, showcasing their creative skills and experience in engaging family audiences with the arts.

The event provided a quieter experience, offering attendees a chance to explore and connect with nature, serving as a contrast to the livelier activities on the high street. The location was selected to draw attention to a different part of town and to highlight a small, beautifully maintained historic park and garden. The park itself evoked many memories from visitors.
